What is Adorable Cat Adoption (ACA)?

Adorable Cat Adoption is a non-profit student run business that is trying to make a difference in the community. The ACA is currently seeking loving and stable homes for the rescued cats. Adorable Cat Adoption currently has 21 cats for adoption. Unfortunately, Adorable Cat Adoption is simply one Humboldt State University student caring for 21 abandoned cats, which means the cats are fed and cared for on a daily basis, but there are no facilities or shelters for these rescued cats to live in.

How is Adorable Cat Adoption funded?

Adorable Cat Adoption is run purely on donations from local cat networks like Friends for Life, Bless the Beasts, and Feral Friends.

How did Adorable Cat Adoption get started?

In December of 2006, 21 precious cats were abandoned by their owner. Although she didn't realize it at the time, Cassi started Adorable Cat Adoption with her decision to rescue these cats. The ACA began with Cassi looking for resources to keep these cats fed. Cassi was able to find local cat networks who donate food, and supplies, when available. She has received a few shelters, but not nearly enough. The cats are currently living outdoors where they can, while Adorable Cat Adoption feeds and cares for these 21 rescued cats. Adorable Cat Adoption is now looking for ways to raise awareness about the organization, in the hopes of finding homes for these cats. So the ACA created this website, began posting fliers and advertising locally. Adorable Cat Adoption has both adoptable cats and barn cats available. To learn more about the Adorable Cat Adoption organization see the About Us page.

How do I adopt a cat from Adorable Cat Adoption?

If you would like to adopt one of our rescued cats or barn cats, contact Cassi at firefly1269@aol.com. She will then help determine what cat is best for your situation. Cassi will also set a date in order to meet with you and allow you to meet the cat or cats you are interested in. Once you have decided to adopt a cat, Cassi will spend the 1-2 weeks rehabilitating the cat and preparing it for it's new home. If you end up adopting a cat from Adorable Cat Adoption, we will provide a free immunization and 1-2 month supplies of flea medication, depending on availability of supplies.

Why adopt a cat from Adorable Cat Adoption?

There are many reasons to adopt a cat from a shelter. However, Adorable Cat Adoption is not a typical shelter. The cats at Adorable Cat Adoption, not only have to live outdoors even in the rainy Humboldt climate, but they have a limited amount of time to be adopted. These cats can only be cared for until the student who is caring for them graduates. Once she graduates she will have no choice but to put them in a shelter, where they will for sure be euthanized. These cats will not do well in the high stress environment of a caged shelter. Since they will be so terrified in the shelter, they virtually have no chance of getting adopted.
